Well my boyfriend and i have been going out for a month now. He bought me flowers for the occasion but I didn't give him anything. What do you think about me giving him a picture I drew? He's into skateboarding and has lots of magazine pictures of that on his walls.. So I drew a picture from a tony hawk game, (kinda sorta) what do you think of it?
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u271/...
If you had a girlfriend who gave you this as a gift, what would you think?
Would this be weird?
looks neat
Reply:I think it's a great picture and you are very thoughtful. I think your boyfriend will love it because it's a personal gift and you put your time and effort into it especially for him.
Reply:i think you did a good job on the picture but show it too him first if he likes it then give it to him

Well you play the widow, new poem?
Well you play the widow
Mourning in black wool cloak.
Slipping by, a tear at your eye,
Under a shrouded of grief smoke.
Well you play the widow,
Bare wrist clutching your chest.
Graciously welcoming the funeral flowers
Of which you detest.
Well you play the widow,
Running his comb through your hair.
Waiting, sorrowed, quietly,
In your lonely rocking chair.
Well you play the widow,
Turning your face to the sun.
Grey curled tendrils coming loose
From a weathered bun.
Well you play the widow,
Clinging to stone walled shadow.
Wine-lipped frown etched
Into high cheekbones, shallow.
Well you play the widow,
Writing the eulogy.
Poetic, heroic, a hardworking man,
A man whose heart is now free.
Well you play the widow, new poem?
Excellent. Wonderful tight structure, very effective rhyming pattern. And above all, great content, which is open to a variety of interpretations, including yours and mine. One correction - on the 4th line - it should be "shroud."
Reply:that's very good..
my WWI poem was going to repeat but i decided against it.
the imagery created especially is marvellous.
congrats on this poem.

Can you help me analyze this poem by robert frost.?
RELUCTANCE
OUT through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.
The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.
And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question ‘Whither?’
Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?
i need to answer the following question..
who is the speaker
where is the speaker situated
what is the poem mean
what elements has the poet used
Can you help me analyze this poem by robert frost.?
The feel of the poem is of melancholia at the passing of the season as evidenced in the images of dead leaves, missing plants and bare trees.
In the final verse ( Not yours!) he asks if we can ever be satisfied or happy accepting reason rather than emotion for making the decision to end a relationship. He compares it to accepting the end of summer with all it's joys and replacing it with the cold desolation of winter and the emptiness of the landscape and dearth of flowers to gladden the heart.
The reluctance is the desire not to move on and accept that love is, indeed, gone.
I hope this helps.
Reply:I don't know. That fifth stanza must have been typed by someone with really poor skills.
Since class is probably over by now...
I need to answer the following questions:
Who is the speaker? The Lover
Where is the speaker situated? Home
What does the poem mean? Life and Love don't Last
What elements have the poet used? Rhyme, meter and metaphor.

What you can come up with, what you see everyday?
What you have seen in your life?
What you have seen in your life? Like I have seen.... children playing in rain....shell near sea....baby crying in mom's arms...frogs jumping around in a rain......lizards on the walls....cows on the road.....people selling fish on the road side......dog drinking water from a puddle......couple kissing in a park........butterflies on a flowers........and so on.....
Its simple i know, but still hard to find....
Again what you have seen just like i did????
What you can come up with, what you see everyday?
flowers on the meadow ... deep green forests ... sunsets at the beach ... strawberries warmed by the sun ... veils of mist on a calm lake ... frost making patterns on a window ... the birth of kittens ... cranes dancing ... thunder storms ... snow covered wastelands ... sausages cooking over an open fire ... dried out waterfalls ... dragonflies hovering over the pond ...

A huge herd of sheep blocking a road in the Baltics.
A public market selling almost everything in Estonia.
Entire mountainsides terraced for farming in Romania.
Kids with no gameboys, no xboxes, no tennis shoes, not much of anything, having a ball playing baseball with a big stick and a crushed milk carton in the Dominican Republic. Even if it hit you, the little box was too light to hurt and they could smack it as hard as they wanted.
Mothers nursing their babies on a train in several European countries and nobody even noticing.
A girl with a pierced nostril in the UK trying to blow her nose while everyone around her tried not to notice or show their amusement at her predicament.
A horrific traffic accident.
The poodle I had as a kid hiding after he got a haircut, ashamed of the poofy look of his ears, top of his head and tail. He'd run outside as soon as he could and roll in mud for some reason.
My cat trying to look like a jungle cat as she pounced on my foot.
A few things I can't explain, from phantom sounds to even odder things I've seen.
A father losing his temper at Disneyworld and kicking an automatic door. Sadly, his 5-year-old mimicked him a few seconds later.
People in what are supposedly some of the 'unfriendliest' cities on Earth helping a stranger.
Parents sending their toddlers to beg for candy or money as I waited for a train in Romania. And the huge gold-gilt roof of their leader's house.
Poor people in many countries who seemed happier than most of the people I know, despite not having any tv at all, let alone a big-screen HDTV or even a front door on their house.
Thousands of birds flying in perfectly synchronized formation.
A small bird bravely trying to fly into a stiff wind, then finally landing so he could walk instead.
Reply:I saw a drunk guy wearing no shirt and bibbed overalls. His bibs were riding lower and lower. He could feel it and kept trying to pull them up. Only problem was that he was so drunk that he kept missing the trousers and grabbing the waistband of his boxers. After awhile, he had pulled them up to his armpits. Believe me, that was weird! (But hilarious!)

Would this look stupid?
I have a little boutique and I'm looking to replace the tattered dressing room curtains with new ones. There are two sets of curtains that I already have (Beige linen) which are kind of the "Backdrop" for the center, colorful curtain.
The store is decorated with beige walls, white windowsills, and gold trim accents. The furniture is gold, off-white, and black.
I would like to "spruce up the place" by adding color, but I'm afraid choice # 2 may be too loud (and then I would have to find some matching blue flowers or something to make it flow). Choice # 1 might not be the correct color gold to match, but it's safe. What do you think?

I love the turquoise and that would be my choice. I think you will want to bring in some accents but I think that would be easy and affordable enough to do. Best wishes!
Reply:I think that turquoise curtains are a great idea, however I think that those curtains look kind of cheap (personally). I think something like this would look better:

Reply:Go with the turquoise ones, it is a really hot color right now in decorating. If you don't want it to be "too loud" go with a more Tiffany's blue instead of quite so bright which would look wonderful with the other colors you mentioned, very elegant.
Reply:Choice number two is a good color, but the curtains themselves look a little see-through.
Reply:the turquoise rocks.
Reply:Go with choice #2. It's a beautiful color and why play it safe?

I can't figure out what the name of this game is...?
It's this game with this ball that you roll around different levels and roll over flowers to "grow" them. You have to use your mouse to move the ball to jump over things and bust through walls and fly over ramps and stuff like that. You start with this one ball, then you win so much and you get a silver ball, then a gold one. I want to play it so bad, but I can't think of the name and I can't find it by describing it on google or other search engines. Please if you know the name of the game or a link to a website where it is let me know!!!

Has Love made you Mad?
A Time for Madness
Once more,
Love is pouring down my ceiling
and my walls.
Once more, it's the night of the full moon,
it is time for madness.
All my immense knowledge
cannot help me now.
Once more,
Insomnia took my patience.
Rain washed away my intellect.
The Lover made me lose my profession.
What good is my work anyway?
Once more, rise, rise, rise,
Like the way a garden burns
in a hundred shades of orange in the fall,
a Lover's heart shrivels for a sense of the Beloved's touch.
Now the face of that charred garden
is my field of flowers.
Look, two hundred Jupiters
are dancing around my moon.
My Love business is booming,
but don't credit the consultants.
I am done with the consultants
and the pundits,
they call you Jafar the imposter.
Little do they know,
that you are my Shams the Flyer.
~Rumi
Has Love made you Mad?
yes, in the way rumi describes it... every single line strokes the gong of love and truth in my heart, thank you.
Reply:love for another person? if that's the case...i'm trying to undo my madness.
Reply:No, love makes a person liberal, patient, responsible, caring and understanding.
Reply:Yes!!
Unfortunately it is 5 years ago now,,,
The memory still makes me smile,,
I would laugh i would smile all day
And I went mad!! (Heathcliff cathy no i went Lancelot mad!!)
Hope to meet Love again// (think only the same Lover will do now, my downfall?? I got pretty religious to just about then. The whole thing was madness, happyness)
I miss the intensity of every moment when there is Love, when happiness becomes your permanent state of being..
Love
Reply:Everything around you seems to blossom....love brings meaning to ones life....it makes you feel special in its own way....you just can’t stop thinking about your beloved....when you are in love you can never be lonely wherever you go...i dont feel it is madness...it is deewanagi
Reply:Yes it definately has and probably will again.
Reply:That is one person's opinion. Love is frustrating because when I was a child, I thought like a child. When I was a baby I thought that everyone should stop what they were doing because I cried. And when they didn't answer my cry, I got mad because my feelings got hurt.
When I grew up, I had to grow out of being self-centered. To love required me to be the care giver. I had to love another so I wasn't self-centered.
"My Love business is booming" is not a description of what I call love. 1 cor 13:4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Reply:sadly, yes. *starts to cry*

How would you explore your experience?
What you have seen in your life?
What you have seen in your life? Like I have seen.... children playing in rain....shell near sea....baby crying in mom's arms...frogs jumping around in a rain......lizards on the walls....cows on the road.....people selling fish on the road side......dog drinking water from a puddle......couple kissing in a park........butterflies on a flowers........and so on.....
Its simple i know, but still hard to find....
Again what you have seen just like i did????
How would you explore your experience?
At first, when I saw your question, I'd thought it'd be an easy answer, but once I got to the answering part... Well, I didn't know what to write. I realized that many things I have seen that I consider to be "special" was on the television. It was stunning. My answer took a little while to think up of, but nevertheless...
A look up as wisps of white clouds quietly passes over… Sitting in a coach bus as prairies pass on by… Failed attempts and a kite not in the sky… several ants carrying the portion of a cookie I crumpled for them… the brilliant flash of lightening on open land… everyone’s names hung by a thread, spinning and twirling to the cold breeze… a bouncing crowd reacting to the music of a band… a cheetah’s steal in a basketball game…the rushing crowd as a store opens on Black Friday... bright-eyed children looking into the Marshall's Christmas windows under the gently falling snow… the most limber fingers playing the keys of a piano… a few strokes of a pencil, creating fine art within moments… the sync of an orchestra playing as one, in music and movements… Chicago’s skyscrapers at a distance…
Although my life is still quite young, I believe I have experienced a few things that are still noteworthy (at least to me). I will continue to add more and more of my new and past experiences in my list as time goes on. Thank you for asking this question, it has opened my eyes a little bit more.

Freaky dream this morning?
I woke really early like at six this morning and noticed i still had an hour to sleep so i did and i had a dream that I was in a children's hospital??? Sitting on a black couch (i'm gonna be as specific as possible) and there were four couches and a table in the middle. and plants against the walls. im talking to two doctors with my mom and they said i had cancer and theire are openings or like windows and i saw hallways with skeletons lying on stretchers holding flowers and well. before that part i had a dream that i was wearing a jacket well the hood was on my head and it was raining and i was in a truck and i got out. and i saw someone very familiar looking. i think it was uh whats her name from disney channel my niece watches it all the time uh vanessa something. and she was dressed like a rocker punk or something. ok THEN i had the cancer dream. whats dis mean
Freaky dream this morning?
Dreams don't mean anything. They are almost completely random neurological events. You can create a lot of weirdness for yourself by over focusing on some nonsense out of a dream. The dream will be very much richer in detail than you can remember. It is just like reality in that respect. It is full of stuff for you to attach your attention to. What you attach your attention to "determines" what you get out of the experience.
So it is not the dream that has learning in it. It is what you have selected from the dream to construct into a memory that has learning in it. Why did you choose those details to remember? What about your current state of being would be better in your control, if you noticed that you were attending to in your dream or in your life. Where else in your life do those kinds of selections show up and what is the price you pay for being distracted into those paths?
I think just giving credence to the idea that dreams have some meaning, is sufficiently distracting to distort my experience of the present. Practicing staying present is very valuable and is exactly why the practice is called THE PRESENT.
Reply:That dream is so movie-like.
Reply:According to Dreamcrowd:
To dream that you or someone else is undergoing surgery, signifies the opening of the Self and/or the need for emotional healing. You need to "cut out" or eliminate something from your life. Alternatively, you are feeling the influence of some authority figure. A more literal interpretation of this dream may reflect your concerns about upcoming surgery or about your health.
To see children in your dream, signifies your own childlike qualities or a retreat back to a childlike state. It is an extension of your inner child during a time of innocence, purity, simplicity, and a carefree attitude. You may be longing for the past and the chance to satisfy repressed desires and unfulfilled hopes. Take some time off and cater to the inner child within. Perhaps there is something that you need to see grow and nurtured. To dream that your own grown children are still very young, indicates that you still see them as young and dependent. You want to feel needed and significant. To dream that you are watching children but they do not know you are there, is a metaphor for some hidden knowledge or some latent talent which you have failed to recognize. To save a child, signifies your attempts to save a part of yourself from being destroyed.

Reply:Well, it definitely reinforces the mother-son relationship--you still feel like her child because she brought you to a children's hospital. You're feeling old, thinking of your niece and her favorite celeb, and thinking of cancer, you're worried that your time is nearly up, and that you dread the thought of dying of cancer.
Best I can do.

What do you think of my poem?(revised)?
Crushing a daisy in my hand
I look away
“Are you sure this is when and who you want?”
Why,
So calmly
I am sure and will be forever
have them dancing in my head
at this moment
And yes it will be
them
them and
only them for this moment will do
with rounded walls I speak to the center
(To Myself)
you understand these daisy tripping fantasies of love,
are meant
for now
Only now
and must be devoured in the subconscious
With only the
swiftest motion
“Madame (Myself) I understand, please put the flowers in my hand, I wish to toss the bouquet away, just save your words for another day.”
What do you think of my poem?(revised)?
Very deep and thought-provoking. When I read this, I get the inpression of a debate, battle, or conflict between the heart and the mind.
Reply:i like it. sounds like a poem that i wrote yesterday. yours is better.

Does this question make sense to you about plant cells and animal cells? If so, what is your answer?
Cells of flowering plants have certain features not possessed by animal cells. These features always include:
a) centrioles fibre
b) starch cells grains
c) cellulose cell walls
d) cytoplasm cell strands
Does this question make sense to you about plant cells and animal cells? If so, what is your answer?
b) Starch grains ( The statement should have been ' Starch grains in the cells ' )
And
c) Cellulose cell Walls
The above two are ALWAYS associated with plant cells and not found in animal cells.
Reply:c) cellulose and cell walls
only plant cells have cell wall and those cell walls are made up of cellulose.

Do yuor cats ever....?
drink out of cups that are at the opposite end of the house from her food ... she knocks over her water cup to drink it and she won't drink out of anythign else unless it has flowers or rocks in it andshe often dips her paw in the water to scoop it out its really cute but i think its weird anyones cat do stuff like that and also i have another cat who hates his leg he always just randomley bights it and he stares at walls hehe
Do yuor cats ever....?
The water thing is funny. Lots of cats drink from cups with their paw.
The kitty who is biting his leg is suffering from psychosis. He needs to go to the vet and get some medication for his anxiety.
.
Reply:My cats used to do that when we were away, but we've learned our lesson, and now we put the cups in the sink! lol!
By the way, the cat that's biting his leg- that's not good. It's called anxiety, and you need to bring him to the vet.
Good luck!
Reply:Ahh,, cats, cats, cats.
Reply:My cat is pretty wierd. He dips his paw in the water, scoops some up and drinks out of his paw. He also does that with his food. And he really like drinking out of my cup. If I have a glass of milk next to me or just sitting out, he will sneak up and start drinking it.
Reply:My cat Oreo always sticks his paw in the water bowl.
Reply:my cat never does that and she is only 10 weeks old.
Reply:I used to leave a glass of water on my night table. I'd often wake up thirsty and save myself a trip to the kitchen. One morning I woke up to what felt like rain drizzle on my face. My cat Alex had been dipping his paw to drink and when he'd had enough, proceeded to shake the excess water from his paw.
Not the best way to start the day.
Reply:Welcome to the wonderful world of cats! I have a 4 month old male who would prefer to drink out my glass than his own water dish. Cats are all different and have different personalities. Some of them can be pretty strange.
On another note, you may want to check and see why he's biting his leg. It could itch. He might have fleas or some kind of skin problem. I'd check into that.
Reply:My cat doesn't usually try to drink water from plants. However, he new thing is to knock the glass of water on my head board, onto my head at 2 in the morning. God love her. She's 10.. the only time she really goes after water is if she is out in her bowl.
Reply:Yeah, my kitty will go out of her way to get water that she's not supposed to have. Like if you leave the sink on for a sec and walk away she'll try and practically bathe in it lol. As for the leg thing, maybe it hurts or they got something on it that they don't like. Maybe you could try washing the leg or taking it to a vet for an x-ray.
Reply:the one cat bitting could havr dry skin. the other one its normal, it likes to play.
Reply:My cat loves water, soon as you go into the bathroom shes up on the sink waiting for ya to turn the tap on and she scoops it, she also likes playing in the bath when theres a lil water in it

Can you answer all of these riddles correctly?
There are in ascending order of difficulty:
1. If a rooster is on the top of a roof and it lays an egg, to which side does it roll?
2. Thirty white horses on a red hill. First they champ, then they stamp, then they stand still.

Can u help me with this poem???????
Reluctance
Poem lyrics of Reluctance by Robert Frost.
Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.
The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.
And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last long aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question 'Whither?'
Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?
can you help interpet for me? i have to do a project for it then write a 250 word essay on it, its hard
Can u help me with this poem???????
The pursuit of life and the end of it also. Metaphors from nature to describe the journey and cycle. (The heart is still aching, etc. but the feet, etc.) is describing the body wearing out while the heart still yearns. The last stanza is about fighting and not accepting the inevitable...death with reason as is evident in nature's cycle.
Reply:I think he's describing (with great beauty) the simplicity of how nature easily slips into change, and going with the flow of it ....while man fights such things.

Since getting rid of carpets and going with wood floors everywhere,i feel iv lost the cosiness to my home .?
Iv always been into the cosy feel of home but my home lost somthing when i opted for no carpets which im glad of cause its more hygenic and is better for my asthma, and is always fresh and fragrant now.Even with my little dog and my cockatiels.Iv scattered cushions and got fur (faux)rugs around. But the minimilistic look means i have to compensate the cosiness.Plain walls and fabrics just dont have the same appeal, and i dont have the funds to start over, and i know i can put up flowery prints, cushions, candles, vases of flowers/grasses,but its still not giving me that cosy feel i used to know. Can anyone come up with something to recosy my home please, cause i miss it.
Since getting rid of carpets and going with wood floors everywhere,i feel iv lost the cosiness to my home .?
Add some warm accents - picture and photo frames in a warm wood, brass, or red/orange/yellow/chocolate enamel; candles and flower/plant arrangements in wood or warm color holders;
washable throws/blankets/quilts;
washable pillows or cushions;
stencils or designs on walls
? washable rugs
Reply:I have carpet in my living room, bedroom and on the stairs, everywhere else in my house has wooden flooring so I can get the benefits of both and still maintain the cosiness of carpet under my feet! Rugs look nice but don't make up for lack of carpet where you really need it. Maybe you should think about having carpet in just one or two rooms of the house.
Reply:Hi, Patsy. So, I'm guessing fluffy throw rugs may not be the answer? (smile) How about (maybe?) moving/regrouping the furniture? Move it away from the walls (and/or around the big, furry, fluffy rug(s)? Move it closer together; nearer a fireplace or the T.V. Or a "coversational" grouping?? A warmer/cosier color on the walls? Pick up one (or all) of the big, furry, fluffy rugs and hang it/them on the wall(s)? Hang a throw or a spread or a blanket that you like and that would suit as a wall hanging? (I KNOW your house isn't cold temp/wise,; it's the feel!)... these things have been known to help...Maybe ...? Good luck. I'm glad your asthma is better. }:%26gt; ... And; is anything else missing as well, maybe? I'm just asking.... Maybe it's not only the carpets? I know, you have your birds and your dog....as you did say; but......? ALSO- colored lightbulbs for the lamps, etc. (NOT Christmas colors) but the pale pink (I really like the pink ones; very flattering as well as warmer-feeling) or peach or-they come in A Lot of shades, now.Phillips I think, makes them and calls them "pastels". I'm pretty sure that by now almost anyone makes some...
Reply:Paint is always the best option for creating a mood! We have 9' ceilings in our house so we opted for a really dark brown over the winter to create a "homey" feeling in our home and it worked! You feel relaxed and at home when in our newly painted home and it only cost us $150.00 to paint the whole house ourselves. So if you have a large area go for a dark color accented by your white trim or go for a more subtle sage or blue, paint can do so much and it really is only as expensive as you make it.
Reply:The only thing i can think of is to have warm coloured wallpapers, colour your ceiling gently,it will give the appearance of the ceiling being a bit lower, which will tend to make it feel cosier.
Reply:Hard floors tend to make a room feel bigger, and more square with straight lines. If you're like me you like to feel like the room is smaller with big "fluffy" or shapely things in it (like the room is cuddling you), rather than big with seemingly small "square" things in it (where the room feels like it's swallowing you). Here's what you do... paint your walls a dark neutral color (like chocolate brown)... this will make the room seem smaller and more cozy... still not enough... brace yourself... paint your ceiling the same color as the walls. I did this when I was in high school, my mom switched mine and my brother's rooms and I didn't like the "bigness" of his room, so I painted the entire room a dark sage green... even the ceiling. It was fabulous... and to this day I miss that room.
Reply:My last house had all hardwood floors in it, and I warmed up the rooms by using rich colors on the walls. They were very cold and stark feeling when I moved in (like seafoam green and white). I painted one room sage (Patina color in American tradition from lowes), one room a nice warm Khaki color (Sand 4 color also at lowes), the living room, I did a kinda denim color called Mercer Blue and a wine color on the wall behind my fireplace with a golden Khaki cove ceiling and ivory trim.
My mom walked in and told me I should become a decorator, and she's not one to hand a compliment out if it's not deserved. Anyway, if your furniture and accessories are all neutral you can get away with lots of surprising colors on the walls...and it's cheaper than filling the room with lots of knicknacks.
Also...just a long drapy scarf wrapped around a curtain rod can change the look of a room...they are anywhere from $20-$40 at stores like Target, Wal-Mart, or Bed Bath and Beyond.
Good luck! I'd love to hear what you end up deciding to do. You can play around with paint color options on both the Home Depot and Lowes websites...the paint tools are challenging to find, and the one at lowes is a little easier, but they are free, and you can see how a shade looks on a whole wall vs. that tiny little paint card they have in the store.
Reply:Rugs Rugs Rugs.
Reply:get really large persian rugs. Get some carpets!
Reply:I know exactly what you mean. It is so much cleaner but not a bit cosy. Try moving the furniture to cover some of the bareness. Put a bit of red in the room to warm it up, also try bigger rugs you can push in the washing machine when needed. The only other thing is buy a carpet for one room
Reply:I have always had carpet and dogs. I have thought about getting rid of the carpet, but I know exactly what you mean about the cozy ness. My neighbor has the exactly same floor plan as my house and they took out their carpet and I do not like the feel of their house, so I am keep my carpet. Large rugs would work, but the cost would almost as much as you putting in new carpet. I have multi colored carpet. Its several shades of brown/tan/beige and does not show any dirt like those plush carpets do. I would get that, multi colored carpet to hide the dirt.
Reply:Great for a clog dance though, evening,s you can soften up with standard and table lamps of a type to glow off your walls giving a nice warm bounce back, as you have already listed rugs , cushions and fabrics you do not leave much to do , unless you go back to rush mats, they will not affect your breathing problem, to much wooden floors do leave a cold look, you should have looked into it on pictures before committing to it, if by doing that now you may find someone who is displaying in their photo's something that may be of use you can put into your own home.
Reply:i have always thought especially the craze of this wood strip flooring when i walk into any-ones homes without carpet i immediately feel cold and uncomfortable and how some folk can have tiled floors in the bedroom even my friends have it in Spain i still feel very uncomfortable and the cosiness is gone//so Patsy i can give you no alternative than get the carpets back down again
Reply:i wish i had an answer for you becaus i'm in the same situation. i have 4 kids and a labby and it easier having the wood floors but my home lacks cosiness. i have rugs and cushions, but that is all there is i think. i'll read some of your answers anyway, see if i too can find any ideas.
thanks for the question x
Reply:big fluffy rugs
Reply:A few options for your room... Get the same carpet padding you would have for a wall to wall carpet and put it under your throw rugs it will help them feel softer then they already are and make them a little more pleasant to walk on... also moving your furniture so its off the walls and also not lined up with the walls will help remove the "boxy" feeling one of the biggest mistakes people make is putting their couches and other furniture against the walls... turn your couch at an angle from the wall and put the front feet of the couch onto the rug to help anchor it into whatever seating you have in the room... I am not exactly sure of what furniture you have in the room but hopefully taking them off the walls and re-arranging them will help greatly
Reply:how about some nice big thick rugs? or even cheaper a pair of fluffy slippers for you.
Reply:The wooden floors may not help your asthma the carpets were actually better believe it or not. The carpets would have trapped anything circulating in the air therefore if you vacuumed on a regular basis you could eliminate the problem. Also you could have had your carpets treated which would kill dust mites etc
Wodden floors cannot trap anything therefore just recirculating. Shag pile rugs are the best for that cosy feeling. Best of luck
Reply:nope!!!!!!!!!!!!
i got rid of my carpets for expensive laminate flooring 3 years ago.
the only way to cosy it is back to carpets i am afraid.
but my fella says we paid enough in the bloody fist place for my laminate whim, and therefore we have to get our £700 worth before we change back to carpets!!!!!!!!!

How to make clouds??
I am doing a garden theme for my daughters room. I painted it blue and put white lattice along the bottom which has vines and flowers and ladybugs that I painted on it. I want to paint clouds on the top part of the walls but dont want them to look pastey. I would like soft whispy looking clouds. How can I make them look realistic and nice? Please help. Thank you.
How to make clouds??
Here's one suggestion:
Supplies:
*primer
*blue, satin finish paint
*white, semi-gloss paint
*glaze
*full-size paint roller
*4-inch paint roller
*2-inch paint brush
*paint tray
*glass measuring cup
*pieces of sea sponge, big enough to be held between your thumb and fingers
*a piece of cheesecloth, about 18 x 24 inches
*a piece of board or wallboard, approximately 36 x 24"
*pictures of clouds, if possible
The first step in the cloud-painting process is to prepare the walls for paint. Just like an artist prepares his canvas for painting, so must you prepare the walls to accept the paint. Use the 2-inch brush to paint the crevice between the ceiling and the walls and between each wall. Then use the paint roller to paint the rest of the walls. You may find it easier to go over the wall next to the crevices with the small paint roller. Give the walls two coats of primer, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly.
After the primer, apply two coats of the blue and again, allow to dry thoroughly. At the same time, paint the piece of board or wallboard; this will be used to practice your cloud-painting technique. The last coat of paint should be allowed to dry for 24 hours before applying the clouds.
You will use the measuring cup to mix the glaze and the white paint, using a 4 to 1 ratio. For example, you could add 1 cup of glaze and 1/4 cup of white paint. Mix thoroughly and pour into paint tray. Continue to mix this several times as you are painting as the mixture has a tendency to separate.
Assemble any pictures of clouds you were able to collect and spread them out in a location that you can check frequently for ideas. Choose a piece of sponge, wet it under the tap, and wring it out completely. Next, dab it into the white paint, then dab on the ridges of the paint tray to remove excess paint.
Now the fun begins! Before actually painting, take a moment to wet your piece of cheesecloth under the tap and wring out thoroughly. Keep this near at hand while you paint your clouds. Use your previously prepared board or wallboard to practice forming clouds.
With your sponge, start dabbing on the board in a fairly straight line for the bottom of the cloud. Then start dabbing paint above this line, twisting and turning the sponge as you dab, to build your cloud. When you are satisfied with the general shape of the cloud, take your cheesecloth and dab gently over the entire cloud, softening the paint and giving it a more cloud-like appearance. You may then dab a few more bits of paint on the cloud, towards the center, to add some texture. You will create each cloud in the same way, twisting and turning and dabbing the sponge, softening with the cheesecloth, and then adding texture with a few more dabs of paint.
Choose your largest wall and find the middle of the wall, both vertically and horizontally - just eyeball it. Then, move to either your left or right about one foot. Go up or down about one foot from the vertical center that you found. This is where you will begin painting. This is an important step because it will eliminate the effect of a bullseye - a cloud painted right in the middle of a wall! Make your largest cloud about 20-24 inches in length, medium clouds 10-15 inches, small 5-10 inches, and wisps can be as small as 2 inches. (These sizes are based on a room of about 8 x 10'; if your room is larger or smaller, adjust your sizes appropriately.)
To make the clouds seem natural, try to get away from painting the clouds all the same size or in some sort of pattern. When starting a wall, I like to try and place the largest clouds first, off-center and at different places to the ones on the other four walls. Then I fill in with medium sized clouds, small clouds, and then "wisps" - those clouds that are hardly there.
Wrap some of your clouds around the corners of the walls and start some right from the baseboards or window trim. Don't forget to paint small wisps of clouds around light switches, electrical outlets, cool air vents, and wall-mounted lights. These details really pay off!
Reply:Sponge or spray.
Thankfully you added details,,, Smiles. I'm GOOD not GOD and have never attempted MAKING a cloud in that sense.
Sponging/Faux finishing works well and is less messy than spray, but if you're a talented air brush artist you can achieve realistic results.

Reply:I did this in my bathroom. I used a sponge to paint white shaped clouds, using the sponge like you do stenciling, dabbing excess paint off before putting on wall. Before the paint dried, I took paper towels and rubbed slowly around edges and center to make them look wispy and soft. It looks great!!!! I tried this out on a board before starting on the walls. After practicing, I knew when I was ready for the wall. Have Fun!!!

What type of house should I buy for my lifestyle?
Hello, I am 46/m and single. I will be a first time buyer. I want to jump in now and take advantage of the rare buyer's market. However, I am not interested in having a cute
little yard, with a bird bath, and matching storage shed. I don't want anything cutsie.
I don't want flowers or shrubs to tend with.
I don't even want to mow freaking grass.
A townhome is the most obvious, but that
is not acceptable. I want a house. I don't want to share walls with ANYONE. I have lived in apartments all my life and I want OUT. Please help me figure out what kind of house is best for me. Thanks.
ps... I live in Colorado, but I am considering moving to Indiana because houses are cheaper. My max house price is only 150K.
What type of house should I buy for my lifestyle?
Hi, My closes friend lives in Indiana and i have been told it is a beautiful state to live in. Anyway back to your question. I thing what you are looking for is a single ranch style home with a very small yard in the front and back. A small yard would be nice in case you have a dog or another kind of pet.You don't have to have flowers but have you thought of having a small garden maybe some tomatos, string green beans and squash. It's something to think about. Yes a single ranch style home is for you. Even with a small yard front and back if you don't want to cut the yard hire a neighborhood kid to do your yard.

Reply:You're asking some very mixed questions ... you want a house, and you don't want to take care of a yard. And you don't want to share walls with anyone. A few suggestions:
a) Don't move some place just because houses are cheaper. Maybe they're cheaper because there are limited job opportunities too. Or at least make sure you can find a job in the field that interests you there.
b) If you're moving to a city, you could see if there are buildings with a top floor unit available. Then you'd share no walls, but you'd have neighbors underneath you.
c) So ... don't buy a house with a shed, if you don't want a shed, or stipulate that the owners remove it if you find the perfect home except for the shed.
d) Hire a landscape company. They can send someone by every week to cut your grass and trim your trees. All you have to do is write a check and smell the flowers.

Does anyone know the answer to this poem thing? THANK YOU?
Emma is odd but not peculiar. She hates arguments and is agreeable. She dates a programmer but loathes systems analysts. She would like to get married but dsnt know which month to do so. She narrowed it to summer or fall because spring and winter. She is sure to enjoy her wedding but not her reception. Emmas little cottage has three rooms. She likes the walls and floors but not the ceilings. She likes the doors but not the windows. She sleeps on cotton sheets and a pillowcases because she hates linen and silk. She likes dogwood trees and thier smallblossoms but dislikes flowers. Her favorite colors are yellow and green; she dosnt care for yellow and red. She wears dresses instead of blouses and skirts. Her hair is, of course, brunette. Emma has a tradmill but dosnt like to exercise. Shes chubby but not plump. She loves the wilderness but hates camping. She enjoys cooking but stays out of the kitchen. She lijkes books but not magazines. Does emma prefer alligators or crocodile? explain

ANGER
There are those who can only dazzle
In anger words of pure heart
Like the steady throb of acytelene
Charring the rind of day
While seeds hardened in the fruit
Your silence holds close to your mouth
The design of such shrill fire
Is invisibility at high noon
Its tungsten fever shrivels
Feasts of flowers, handribs of woods
Darkening cities and curtains
That panic through the tears of widows
But a love folded somewhere
Will not crackle in the embrace of fire
I think of you, how the loves of women
Are specially persistent and
Will not be satisfied with walls whelmed
By fire, their pride habitually
Conceives higher windows brimming
With the stares of children, an earlier
Sun, Fury like a blowtorch left burning on a torn
Edge of pavement, Supposses the leanest landscape,
Like knuckles Drawing no such order as rain,
Whereas our eyes still have those miracles, the wood,
Whose lush silence our feet cannot quench.
Pls explain every stanza of this poem.... pls help me.....?
no matter how madd the person that you love gets those nasty words they speak will not put the love that is in your heart out because if i'm right it burns so bright and strong for that person that it always has things to keep it brunning as it is well put in this poem love is very powerful if you really feel it god bless.
Reply:you should learn to think for yourself instead of having others do your work for you. you'll be a better person for it, too.
Reply:sorry, cant help you with your own interpretation. poems (or any other literary works) mean differently to a lot of people. asking us to analyze it for you would be like robbing yourself of the opportunity to use your brain.
anyways, just read the poem slowly (and maybe with a dictionary), over and over again until you understand it. no other way. then interpret it yourself.

What do you think of my drawing?
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u271/...
I want to give it to my boyfriend as a gift. He bought me flowers so I was going to give him this in return. He's into skateboarding and he has lots of magazines on his walls, I thought this might look cool up there too.
Guys.. would you like this is your girlfriend gave it to you?

If he's a skateboarding fan, I'm sure he will love it. :D (i've seen that eye in the tony hawks games..?)
I like how the point where the eyeball meets the red part looks.. it stands out and isn't all flat. And the whole thing is completely coloured... nice work. :) I hope he appreciates it.

Fully Furnished Garages?
I've seen garages fully furnished with paintings, couch, and a mini kitchen and flowers just like a living room. I'm talking about lavish, though, not cheesy.
My Q is is this safe--meaning do rats, or spiders come in a garage still even though the walls are painted, the roof is covered, and all that? Just wondering because isn't a garage still a garage? Your thoughts, please.
Fully Furnished Garages?
I used the garage as my "master bedroom" for almost 2 month this summer while I was still doing some cosmetic work in the house we were about to move in(e.g. painting, flooring etc...) Car has to be outside (unless you want a headache n the morning), doors and windows shot. Cost me an extra $200 to get the window AC but it was worth the money. I had to check up on bugs before doing to bed. Garage is not such a bad place to sleep as long as you manage to keep the insects out and AC ON during summer.
Reply:We made a gameroom in our garage but we put walls up. Spiders still come in because the man we hired didn't do such a great job.

Fully Furnished Garages?
mine's not that elaborate but.... i keep a dehumidifyer in there and it helps immensly! some actually insulate the walls and such when turning it into a full room so there isn't that much of a problem. if it still has the garage door that when creatures can still enjoy the space as well ; )

I had good grass last year the soil is kind of sandy i didnt cut it after september as suggested?
now new grass is growing but only in patches, ive put weed killer on although the weeds only grow by the walls so why isnt it like it was this time last year what coud of changed?how can i fix it?i have flowers so dont want to lay a new lawn
I had good grass last year the soil is kind of sandy i didnt cut it after september as suggested?
Sometimes I get "thatch" build-up and my grass suffers until I rake it out and aerate the soil. Thatch is dead, matted and sometimes wet, musty grass clippings that build up over time. Insects (not all of them desirable) make a home in there, grubs and cut worms love wet places and you also set yourself up for bacterial problems and disease.
Some cover is good, too much or too wet and you might have problems. Sandy soil types shouldn't do this as much but it could happen. On the opposite end of the spectrum, is your area in a drought this year, could be the "what changed?"
I agree with the earlier post regarding weed %26amp; feed. I only use it when my lawn is really strong and healthy and I can water it afterwards, really well. (We have been on water rationing in Texas for years, so it's not easy when you can only water once a week for 3 hours!
So I would check for thatch build-up, mold or disease, cut-worms and make sure you aren't under or over watering and see if you find a fix!
Reply:Weed killer doesn't do the GRASS any good either. Only use it if the grass is growing strongly.
Poke the surface of the soil/grass about to make some holes in it and resow a strong growing type of grass seed. This will not make you a fine lawn but at least you'll have grass.
Also scatter a mixture of 50/50 compost and lawn sand all over.
keep it well watered and it will grow back - eventually!

Can anyone tell me if I have a behavior disorder. I constantly count things.?
I count every thing when ever I get the chance. I count the floor tilles in the bathroom over and over when I am sitting in the bathroom. Kitchen cabinet doors, flowers on the plate pattern, squars of the window, and I also count them in pairs like 2 4 6 8 10. And I don't like it when thing don't pair up. I count how many walls there are in a room and or how many angels. Please advise me, and if you know of a website that will help me recognize my disorder I will apretiatet it
Can anyone tell me if I have a behavior disorder. I constantly count things.?

Reply:Repetitive behavior is commonly associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It can range from counting tiles to constantly worrying about the roof caving in. Should you have OCD your case is extremely minor. Absolutely nothing to be concerned about. I still suffer from bouts with OCD that are far worse than counting tiles, but still harmless to my mental wellbeing.

I wouldn't worry about it unless:
1. You can't stop even if you want to.
2. It keeps you from getting things done that you have to do.
3. It makes you really anxious or upset if you don't count.
If any of these things are true, you might want to tell a doctor about it.
If not, you just have an unsual habit.

But seriously, your just playing a game that interest you. You have a good imagination. Start looking for things you can apply it to. Like music, musicians count a lot. If you have love for sound or a particular instrument or band, this may be your opportunity to make good use of your ability to count. And being able to count things in pairs helps there too.
Try to find other people who are also creative and like to do things with their imaginations. Have fun with it while you still can. If you're lucky, it'll become permanent.

Performing sonnets!! HELP pleasee!!?
I am performing shakespeare sonnet number 5 for my drama class in two days and i need to be doing an activivty while reciting the sonnet like a monolouge. For instance, one girl will be folding clothes while she recites it. Any ideas on what activity i should be doing for mine?? thanks in advance =]]
here it is: Those hours, that with gentle work did frame
The lovely gaze where every eye doth dwell,
Will play the tyrants to the very same
And that unfair which fairly doth excel:
For never-resting time leads summer on
To hideous winter and confounds him there;
Sap cheque'd with frost and lusty leaves quite gone,
Beauty o'ersnow'd and bareness every where:
Then, were not summer's distillation left,
A liquid prisoner pent in walls of glass,
Beauty's effect with beauty were bereft,
Nor it nor no remembrance what it was:
But flowers distill'd though they with winter meet,
Leese but their show; their substance still lives sweet.

Help! Please help me to identify a plant.?
The plant is a climber and grows in tropical countries. It uses its clasping roots to hold on to walls or trees. Its leaves are green, big and oblong (about 30cm long). It does not bear any flowers.
Help! Please help me to identify a plant.?
It could be Money plant. Check out the web site below.

Reply:Might be a type of Philodendron (see first link). These DO flower under the right conditions but the flowering structure = spathe + spadix (see second link for an example)

Rubber plant

How do I determine the number of stanzas and the number of lines per stanza in this sonnet?
V
Those hours, that with gentle work did frame
The lovely gaze where every eye doth dwell,
Will play the tyrants to the very same
And that unfair which fairly doth excel;
For never-resting time leads summer on
To hideous winter, and confounds him there;

But flowers distill'd, though they with winter meet,
Leese but their show; their substance still lives sweet.
How do I determine the number of stanzas and the number of lines per stanza in this sonnet?
Don't fret. Strictly speaking, there are not "stanzas" in sonnets. A sonnet is a 14-line poem, made up of different parts, that you will easily find if you look at the rhyme scheme of the poem.
Look at the line endings, and call the first rhyme A, the second B, etc...
For the beginning of this sonnet, you will find: ABAB.
Do the rest yourself and you will find the other parts. They have names too.
This may help you:
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-sonnet...
EDIT: look at this definition of a stanza. It is good, simple and you will understand:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanza
Reply:well,
the rhyme scheme is: abab, cdcd, efef, gg
i believe this is an English sonnet (bcoz of the rhyme scheme)
determing the number of stanzas: you can break it up using the ryhme scheme 4/4/4/2 and this is the most usual way. although, you can try splitting it up in terms of content. a set of lines may have different topics, but again, this might just be the same as 4/4/4/2...
hope that helps

What this poem by shakespeare mean? What is the initial message?
Sonnet V

What this poem by shakespeare mean? What is the initial message?
"Those hours, that with gentle work did frame
The lovely gaze where every eye doth dwell,"
Time, that made your lovely face that everyone looks at....
"Will play the tyrants to the very same
And that unfair which fairly doth excel:"
Will be cruel to that same face. Now its features are beautiful, but in the future, they won't be.
"For never-resting time leads summer on
To hideous winter and confounds him there;"
Time keeps moving on. Summer's great, but the same time that gives us summer will bring nasty, bitter winter.
"Sap cheque'd with frost and lusty leaves quite gone,
Beauty o'ersnow'd and bareness every where:"
In winter, sap, which makes a tree grow and live, will freeze and the tree will be bare and will have no beauty.
"Then, were not summer's distillation left,
A liquid prisoner pent in walls of glass,"
Perfume ("liquid prisoner...in walls of glass") allows the beauty of the flowers of summer to live on.
"Beauty's effect with beauty were bereft,
Nor it nor no remembrance what it was:
But flowers distill'd though they with winter meet,
Leese but their show; their substance still lives sweet."
But even though a flower will lose its physical beauty, it's beauty will live on in the smells of perfumes made from the flower.
*Maybe* he leave it for us to continue the thought: A woman's beauty, once gone, is gone forever. People won't want to look at her, men won't love her, etc. That's just my take on it.
http://nfs.sparknotes.com/sonnets/sonnet...
Go with DEKE! He has it right (except I think the "liquid" is perfume and not wine). But it doesn't really matter, because, after reading Deke's answer, either wine or perfume could stand for love. I missed that completely.
Reply:The general theme of this section of sonnets is "time destroys beauty, but love continues".
The "liquid prisoner" I assume is wine, and Shakespeare is stretching the metaphor by referring to the grapes as flowers.
Is this enough to get you started?
