Will Mod Pogue adhere to painted canvas?

I currently live in a sad world of bare walls because I’m having trouble finding art that doesn’t cost more that I’m willing to spend so I’m trying to get creative. So if I bought a pre-stretched canvas, painted it all one color, cut out shapes from fabric, and attached them with Mod Pogue (decoupage compound), would they stay on?

While this isn’t the style I have in mind, this is my example: http://www.georginarambton.com/flowers.s... Instead of white background, I would have some color, and then cut the flowers out of fabric and attach them

Anyone know if this is possible? If not, do you have other suggestions to create such a project?

Will Mod Pogue adhere to painted canvas?
Yes it is........

I use canvas ,acyclic paints and mod pogue...there is different mattes of mod pogue too , I grabbed the wrong one the other day in my studio and ended up with a high gloss.....I fixed it but dang...

prime the canvas.........

A few ideas below for DIY art wall decor.....
Reply:It will definetly work. I do it all the time with prints.

I also do a crackled edge on the canvass to make it looked framed and then just hang it on the wall.
Reply:Yes, they would - but personally I'd use something different, as Mod Podge can sometimes prove to be a light-duty kind of adhesive and sometimes it gets tacky once it's dry, too.

Instead, I would buy some gel medium from an art supply store and use that. It's more durable and permanent. You could also just varnish or shellac the whole thing once you're all done, too.
