Oh dear,i'm stuck,please help!!!?

i've just changed my dining suite now to a dark wood table with brown suede high back chairs,have put a persian brownish/cream with small light blue colour on bottom and it just looks so nice like that but i'm really stuck now with the curtain colours as the ones i have now are kinda peachy with light bluish flowers and that just look horrible and just doesnt make my dining suite stand out ... any ideas of the best colour for my curtains?i have two wide windows from each side of wall and that's exactly where the dining suite stands now,and would you advice long curtains to the floor?or just enough to cover the windows?thank you all in advance!!!

You don't say what colour your walls are. A soft beige or cream would work well with the dark wood and brown suede. If your walls are that colour, or close to it, it may 'blend it too much'.





You may want to consider a dark brown thick fabric that goes with the chairs.





Edit: Striped curtains would be great. A wide vertical stripe in pretty much any colour would be great. I am into earth tones, so blue is not up my alley. I would go with an alternating cream/beige/metallic and brown, olive (or darker) green - something like that. You could go with red if you are brave - a strong red always looks nice in dining rooms for some reason. Pick another colour in the room - perhaps your table cloth/runner, your dishes (pattern), whatever and go off that. Set the room up as if you are having a dinner party and see what would match.





PS: I would paint your walls too... white is so... um... plain

Reply:Sounds pretty. You have lots of choices depending on what you like. You could use a pattern with browns and blues in it...floral or stripes would look good. I prefer the stripes.


And yes, make them go all the way to the floor.

What colour are your floors and walls? I would think you would want to make a feature of your table and chairs. Lets know.
